Last Updated: May 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Aleph (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users, including those using the App without creating an account.
2. Description of Service
Aleph is a knowledge curation application that presents users with daily Wikipedia-sourced articles through a structured seven-node learning framework. Core features include:
- Daily Picks: Up to three curated article selections per day, drawn from a database of over 50,000 Wikipedia articles across multiple academic disciplines.
- Learning Journeys: A seven-node cognitive engagement framework guiding users through definition, topology, real-world mapping, and synthesis tasks.
- Growth Cards:Visual receipt-style cards summarising learning outcomes, which can be saved to your device's photo library or shared.
- Markdown Export: Export of learning notes and task completions for use with external knowledge management tools.
- Cloud Sync: Optional synchronisation of learning progress across devices via a registered account.
- Push Notifications: Optional daily reminders at a user-chosen time.
- Premium Tier (Aleph+): Subscription-based access to advanced features including synthesis tasks, Growth Card generation, Markdown export, and daily reshuffles.
The App is currently in Open Preview. Features, content, and availability may change at any time without prior notice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
4. User Accounts
4.1 Account Creation
You may create an account using your email address, Apple Sign In, or Google account. Account creation is optional for using the App's free features. An account is required for cloud sync and for restoring purchases across devices.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4.3 Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the App's Profile settings. Account deletion permanently removes your account data from our servers. Locally stored data on your device will persist until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the App or its content.
- Not attempt to circumvent any paywall, usage limit, or access control within the App.
- Not use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App or interfere with any other party's use of the App.
You are solely responsible for any notes, observations, or study materials you create within the App.
6. Learning Journeys and Daily Picks
Each day the App presents a curated set of article picks. Once you commit to a learning journey by selecting an article, your remaining picks for that day are released. Learning journeys are sequential — you must complete the seven-node journey before a new daily draw is made available. Aleph does not guarantee the availability of any specific article, topic, or category.
Aleph+ subscribers may reshuffle their daily picks up to three times per day. Free-tier users receive no reshuffles.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
7.1 Aleph+ Plans
Aleph+ is available as a paid subscription in three tiers:
- Monthly: $4.99/month
- Annual: $34.99/year
- Lifetime: One-time purchase (price as displayed)
Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency by the App Store or Google Play Store before purchase confirmation.
7.2 Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account at the time of purchase confirmation. Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings.
7.3 Free Trial
If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. Unused trial time is forfeited upon cancellation.
7.4 Refunds
All purchases are subject to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable. We do not process refunds directly. Please contact the respective app store for refund requests.
7.5 Restore Purchases
If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you may restore your previous purchases by signing into the same account and using the “Restore Purchases” function in the App's Profile settings.
8. Advertising
8.1 Free-Tier Advertising
The free tier of the App displays interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads are shown at natural transition points within the learning experience.
8.2 Ad-Free Experience
Aleph+ subscribers are not shown any advertisements.
8.3 Ad Tracking
On iOS, the App may request permission to use the device's advertising identifier to deliver personalised ads. You may decline this permission and still use the App; you will receive non-personalised ads instead. On Android, the advertising identifier is used in accordance with Google Play policies. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising data is handled.
9. Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions. All permissions are optional and the App remains functional (with reduced features) if any permission is denied.
- Notifications: Daily learning reminders at your chosen time (Optional)
- Photo Library (Write): Save Growth Card images to your photo library (Optional)
- Haptic Feedback: Enhance interaction with tactile responses (Automatic on supported devices)
- Advertising Identifier: Deliver relevant ads — iOS App Tracking Transparency (Optional)
