1. Introduction

Wearlog (also known as WearCal, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and international App Store compliance standards.

2. Data Collection, Storage, and HealthKit Integration

Wearlog is designed with privacy as its foundation. We believe your activity and health data belongs to you.

  • HealthKit Integration: With your explicit permission, Wearlog reads and writes data to the Apple Health app (such as Sleep, Workouts, and Mindful Minutes). This data is processed strictly on your local device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your HealthKit data on our servers. HealthKit data is not used for advertising or data mining purposes.
  • Calendar Integration (EventKit): Wearlog allows you to save tracked activities directly to your local iOS Calendar. Calendar data is managed locally by your device and is not collected by us.
  • iCloud Sync:Your custom tags and activity history are synced securely using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data resides solely on your device and within your personal, private iCloud account. We have no access to it.

3. Information We Collect

Because the app operates primarily locally, the data we interact with is minimal:

  • Advertising Identifiers:For free, ad-supported users, we may collect third-party advertising identifiers (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)) to serve relevant ads. You will be prompted for consent via the User Messaging Platform (UMP).
  • Purchases:Your in-app purchase history is securely handled and validated via Apple's native StoreKit to manage your premium status. We do not process your payment information.
  • Diagnostics:Anonymous Crash Data and basic usage analytics (via Apple's opt-in analytics) to help us identify bugs and monitor system performance.

4. Third-Party Disclosures

We engage trusted third-party services to facilitate app functionality:

  • Apple (iCloud / CloudKit): Used for secure database synchronization across your personal Apple devices.
  • Google AdMob: To serve advertisements (for non-premium users). Google AdMob utilizes advertising identifiers (IDFA) to deliver personalized ads.

5. Advertising & Tracking (IDFA Compliance)

We integrate third-party mobile advertisements (such as Google AdMob) within the application for non-subscribers. To deliver advertisements, the application uses third-party advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA) for advertising purposes.

You can manage your tracking preferences or opt out of personalized tracking at any time through your device settings:

  • iOS:Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and adjust the toggle for Wearlog / WearCal.

6. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Because we do not store your data on external servers controlled by us, you have total and immediate control over your personal data:

  • In-App Deletion: You can delete any tag or tracked activity directly within the app, which instantly removes it from your iCloud storage.
  • Total Erasure: Deleting the app and choosing to delete its associated iCloud data from your device settings will permanently erase all your activity records.

7. Children's Privacy

The Application does not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

8. Security

We deploy industry-standard Apple frameworks to secure and protect the confidentiality of all processed information, relying on on-device encryption and iCloud security protocols.
